NYC is back this year with a New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square. This time only fully vaccinated people or negative tests within 72 hours are allowed with valid identification. All children aged 5 and under will be allowed if they are accompanied with a fully vaccinated adult.


Jamaica shopping center targeted in $68 million foreclosure suit

US Bank filed a foreclosure action Thursday in New York Southern District Court against the operators of the Jamaica Center Mall in Queens, New York. The bank, represented by Holland & Knight, alleges that Mattone Group Jamaica Co. is in default of a leasehold mortgage loan and owes unpaid principal in the amount of more than $68 million.


Hard Rock New York Hotel is set to open in NYC

In April 2022, Hard Rock Hotels is set to unveil its next flagship property in NYC. This will be located in Midtown Manhattan at one time known as Music Row. The 446 room hotel will be open to the public. Price starts around $395 a night. Each guest in the room can enjoy guitars and record players while staying.


Kaufman Astoria Studios sold to a new group

The venture capital firm, Square Mile Capital Management and Hackman Capital Partners have acquired Kaufman Astoria Studios. The studios in Long Island City along with another in the Bronx are now under new ownership. The LIC location has over 500,000 square feet for production.
